LUKE Daniels penned a new two-year deal, with a further year's option in the club's favour, on July 21, 2009, and swiftly joined League One outfit Tranmere Rovers on a season-long loan, with the Baggies having the right to recall him during the January transfer window.
He has yet to make his senior debut for Albion but spent a successful season on loan at League Two Shrewsbury last term, where he gained valuable first-team experience.
The Baggies keeper played a starring role in the Shrews' play-off semi-final second-leg against Bury, making a crucial 31st-minute penalty save before pulling off two stops in a successful penalty shoot-out.
Daniels was in fine form in the Wembley final but could do nothing about Gillingham's last-gasp winner.
He also enjoyed a successful loan spell at SPL outfit Motherwell towards the end of the 2007/08 campaign.
The young keeper, who sealed his first professional contract the previous July, joined the Baggies in 2004 after being released by Manchester United.
He had spent seven years at Old Trafford before being offered a trial at Albion.
His form between the sticks for the reserves saw him make his international debut for England Under-18s in a 2-1 win over Slovenia in April 2006.
With Luke Steele out on loan, Daniels spent most of the second half of the 2006/07 season on the bench, playing understudy to Dean Kiely.
